God gives us gifts through the Holy Spirit to help us be part of the work of building and
spreading the Kingdom of God. As we look at the Bible one thing seems very clear:
God wants to speak to us.  God often revealed the word in the Old Testament times through prophets.  Those prophets heard the word of the Lord for the people and relayed it to them. 
Jesus came as the Father’s perfect Word.  The Apostle John calls Jesus
“The Word made flesh” (Jn 1:14). Jesus opened the door for all Christians to hear God speak.
One way that God speaks to us is through the charism of prophecy.
